Michael A. Colodney received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he focused on Corporate and Commercial Law studies. Immediately after law school, he worked for the Regulatory Inquiry and Response Unit of Prudential Insurance Company conducting internal investigations and responding to inquiries generated by regulatory agencies.
From there, Mr. Colodney took a position as Associate General Counsel & Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey. He was responsible for advising 250 New Jersey credit unions regarding all aspects of state and federal law related to credit union operation and management, including all relevant banking, consumer lending and real estate lending regulations. He also served as staff liaison to the Small Credit Union Committee, where he developed his passion for working with small businesses.
In 2002, Mr. Colodney joined the newly-formed Goen Technologies Corporation, parent to brands such as TRIMSPA® and WINFUEL™. There, he served as General Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary to several affiliated companies during a time of rapid growth, regulatory scrutiny and legal challenge. He sat on the Executive Committee and advised the Board of Directors on all aspects of the corporate legal function.
It was at GTC that Mr. Colodney developed his expertise in the laws related to advertising and dietary supplements. Mr. Colodney has reviewed hundreds of advertisements and supervised all legal aspects of two product launches. He was also responsible for negotiating celebrity endorsements, licensing agreements, major vendor contracts, and a variety of other complex transactions.
Mr. Colodney left Goen Technologies Corporation in 2005 to form this firm devoted to serving the needs of growing businesses. He brings the experience of having served as General Counsel for the number one company in its industry from early in its history — through a period of rapid growth — to a period of stability at the top.
Whichever stage your business is in, Michael A. Colodney will provide the experience you need to transition to the next level.
